Bahawalpur is a city in the Punjab province of Pakistan. With 760,000 inhabitants as of 2017, it is Pakistan’s 11th most populous city. Founded in 1748, Bahawalpur was the capital of the former princely state of Bahawalpur, ruled by the Abbasi family of Nawabs until 1955.
