The huge mosque complex of grand mosque of Pir Bukhari was constructed by Mir Haji Ganhwar Khan Khoso, who initially donated Rs. 50,000 and was first inaugurated by the then Sindh Governor, Shaikh Din Muhammad on 23rd January, 1950. This mosque is situated in 1st Family Line. A year later, the mosque was inaugurated by country’s second Governor General, Khwaja Nazimuddin (28th January, 1951). Then Prime Minister, Mr. Muhammad Khan Junejo also released a grant in aid of Rs. 0.1 million for the renovation of this old mosque. The mosque has a brief prayer hall and it is without domes. It has also a vast courtyard, where as many as I thousand faithful can offer prayer at one time.
